Baines’ Lodge – Okavango Delta, Botswana
Set on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, the Okavango Delta is a remarkable paradox: a vast oasis of winding waterways, lagoons, and islands in the midst of arid wilderness. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Africa’s richest ecosystems, where elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, wild dogs, and an astonishing variety of birdlife thrive among the seasonal floods.
Baines’ Lodge, completely rebuilt in 2025 to world-class design standards, offers an intimate safari experience in the heart of this wetland wonder. Elevated above the papyrus reeds along the Boro River, its six stilted suites combine understated elegance with a strong sense of place.
Each of the six suites is designed for both comfort and privacy. Light and airy interiors flow seamlessly to spacious outdoor decks with sweeping views of the Delta. Super-king beds, mosquito nets, and vintage touches create a refined retreat, while bathrooms feature rain showers, deep soaking baths, and double vanities. Outdoors, guests can enjoy open-air showers and the signature Star Bath experience beneath glittering African skies.

Baines’ Lodge lies at the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, the first wildlife sanctuary established by the Batawana people. This area is one of the most wildlife-rich corners of the Okavango Delta, offering unrivalled opportunities for photography, exploration, and connection with nature.
Small, stylish, and immersed in its environment, Baines’ Lodge is a luxurious oasis where desert meets wetland, and wilderness meets refined simplicity.
