Directions to Camp Shonga

By air
Fly to KMIA / Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, (the nearest airport). Drive to the N4 through Malelane, stay on the N4 for about 40km until the left turn into Komatipoort. Drive through the town of Komatipoort towards Crocodile Bridge gate (8km). Once inside the Kruger National Park, travel for 4km and cross the Vurhami bridge. Turn right at the first Shishangeni Lodge sign board onto a gravel road. Turn right at the second sign board for Shishangeni Lodge (no entry sign). Drive for about another 10km. This road will take you straight to the lodge. Guests will be transferred from Shishangeni to the Shonga Camp.

By road

The Camp Shonga is a small and tranquil bush getaway resting in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains, overlooking the African bushveld in South Africa. As part of 15,000 hectare private concession in the Kruger National Park, Camp Shonga provides guests with the opportunity to experience the untamed African bush.

Camp Shonga can accommodate 10 guests in 5 individual tents which are all luxuriously equipped with en-suite bathrooms and ball and claw baths, outside showers, fans, fireplaces and private game-viewing decks.

Being home to Africa's 'Big 5', the highly trained and experienced guides at Camp Shonga share their vast knowledge of varying eco-systems with their guests.

Guests staying at Camp Shonga in the Kruger National Park are invited to view the big game from the open vehicles on the early morning or afternoon game drives, on foot or from the comfort of their rooms. After the thrilling game drives, guests dine on traditional cuisine around a roaring boma fire under the starlit African sky.
