Activities / Facilities

Activities on the reserve include game drives with professional rangers in Big five territory, guided walks and horseback safaris.

There are an amazing variety of birds on the reserve, with as many as 380 species in the summer months. A colony of cape vulture nest above Wildside camp in November and December, aswell as two nesting pairs of black eagle, and one pair of African fish eagles. Other raptors include secretary birds, black breasted snake eagles, gymnogene and lizard and jackal buzzards.

The rangers often encounter lion on drive, but the lions prefer the bushveld environment, and are usually only found on the lower escarpmentwhere they often pass through the camps. Rangers and guests have oftenwitnessed lions on the hunt. Elephants roam the reserve and are often encountered in the vast wilderness areas, and makefor awesome viewing Rhinoceros are very frequently encountered, and often even in the lodge gardens. The ever elusive leopard can also be seen if you are lucky. This animal, however, is a shy and beautiful creature of which even a fleeting glance is a privilege anddefinitely a highlight of any safari.

The award winning 11 000ha Entabeni Game Reserve is situated in the magnificent, malaria free Waterberg.

Unique features of this area include spectacular scenery consisting of grasslands surrounded by mountains, a 1,5km long lake, a 2000ft escarpment, diverse wildlife and Africa's Big 5 game viewing.

Various dining venues including five restaurants & seven bomas, conference facilities, a cultural village with tribal dancing and a wellness/beauty centre are offered. Enjoy guided game drives/walks, horseback safaris and helicopter flights, for an experience beyond comparison.

Accommodation

A choice of luxury accommodation is offered between Lakeside Lodge, Ravineside Lodge, Wildside Camp, Kingfisher Lodge, Earthsong Lodge & Eagle's Nest. All lodges have en suite bathrooms and are elegantly decorated. Every lodge offers a restaurant, boma and curio shop.

Earthsong Lodge : Lower Escarpment - Five Star
Discover the exclusive new Earthsong Lodge with its 10 rooms on the lower escarpment of the malaria-free Entabeni Private Game Reserve, surrounded by wetlands and plains. This secluded lodge is refreshingly alluring with its unique blend of luxury and true African wilderness with views stretching over the lake and plains to the Hanglip Mountain and the Waterberg range.

Kingfisher Lodge : Upper Escarpment - Five Star Set on the banks of Lake Entabeni
The Kingfisher Lodge is the most luxurious of all the lodges, offering superb personalized service. In the main lounge and dining area the ambience is inviting with elegant decor, specially designed furniture and fireplace ensuring an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere. The lodge has a spacious lounge/dining room, which opens onto a wooden deck. The eight deluxe bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are stylishly decorated and feature fireplaces, minbars and private decks.

Lakeside Lodge : Upper Escarpment - Four Star
On the banks of Lake Entabeni luxurious and elegantly furnished en suite bedrooms are linked with thatched walkways to the Reception, Restaurant Conference and Boma areas. Lake Entabeni, 1,7 kms long, lies between soaring bluffs and peaks, a wonderful place for bird-watching and viewing a rich variety of wildlife. Enjoy sundowners on your own private deck with the always-changing colours of the Entabeni mountain reflecting in the lake.

Eagle's Nest : Upper Escarpment - Satellite Lodge to Lakeside
The exclusive Eagle's Nest with four en suite bedrooms nestles high on a hill overlooking Entabeni Lake and mountain. This luxury wooden and stone lodgestilts provides a perfect setting with spectacular bird's-eye views. A spacious, elegantly decorated private lounge and dining area with fireplace leads on to a unique rock-face boma and sun deck.

Ravineside Lodge : Upper Escarpment - Four Star
Ravineside Lodge comprises tranquil thatched wooden lodges on stilts with bird's-eye views. Each lodge has 3 or 4 luxury en suite bedrooms with an African ethnic theme. Aprivate open-plan lounge and bar area extends to the open sundecks. From here the guests can indulge in bird and game watching and experience the beauty of the ravinewith the rippling sound of water far down in the valley.

Wildside Safari Camp : Lower Escarpment - Four Star
Nestled against the majestic cliffs of the Waterberg mountain wildside of the bush at Wildside Camp. Stay close to nature in tented chalets on wooden decks with uniquely painted en suite bathrooms or in intimate en suite cottages. Traditional South African hospitality and superior cuisine awaits you in the informal dining and bar area extending to the boma. Here, in the warm atmosphere around the campfire, you will experience an African night at its best.
