The Shamwari Game Reserve is a 25 000 hectares (61 000 acres) malaria free, private game reserve situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for five consecutive years. It is situated in verdant bush along the Bushmans River, halfway between Port Elizabeth (45 minutes drive outside the city) and Grahamstown, a pleasant drive from Cape Town, forming a natural extension to the famous Garden Route.
The Long Lee Manor at the Shamwari Game reserve, originally built in 1910, offers a distinctive Colonial experience. This splendidly restored Edwardian Manor House offers guests refined comfort, congenial service and enticing cuisine in the African bush.
Long Lee Manor accommodates 38 guests in elegant en-suite rooms, all with air-conditioning and heating, as well as family suites for the children. Sumptuously prepared meals are enjoyed in the main dining room or around the open blazing fire at the Barn. Between game drives guests can laze around one of the two pools, relax in the beautifully appointed garden lounge, or experience a rejuvenating treatment in our spa.

General
• Adults/Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.
• Children under the age of 12 years are accommodated by prior arrangement only.
• 0 - 2 Year old children to share with parents at no extra charge, but are not permitted to join the game
drives.
• 3 - 6 Year old children may share a room with the parents and will be charged 25% of the normal rate,
which includes meals, accommodation, but are not permitted to join the game drives.
• 7 - 11 Year old children either sharing a room with their parents or in a separate room will be charged 50%
of the normal rate, which includes meals, accommodation and game drives.
• Children from 12 years old will require a separate room at the normal rate.
• Children under the age of 12 years are only accepted at Long Lee Manor.
• No children under the age of 16 years are allowed at Eagles Crag and Lobengula.
• Children (maximum 2) can only share with parents in the family suite or in the luxury / inter leading rooms,
subject to available.

Children Co-ordinator to introduce her self to kids; have a brief chat to parents and kids with regards to day's activities for the kids.

- Kiddies game drives with the co-ordinator
- Visit to born free with co-ordinator
- Story telling
- For older kids co-ordinate a football match, touch rugby or cricket match
- Listen to animal sounds and identify animals
- Sand building activities
- DVD'S in the Barn
- Slide shows
- Face painting
- Crayons and books after game drive as feed back of what animals they have spotted.
The co-ordinator will arrange in advance with regards to kiddies meals and times.
Overall the whole program will be tailor made depending on the kids, their age and weather. But each activity will be discussed and communicated with management and parents daily.
