Guests staying at the Mateya Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve can be treated to a full range of pleasurable and rejuvenating body treatments by a dedicated health therapist in the Health & Beauty Spa. The 5 star Mateya Safari Lodge is located in the magnificent 75,000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa.
This game rich game reserve is characterized by its extensive plains which slope in a north-easterly and easterly direction towards the Marico River. The Dwarsberg Mountain Range forms the southern boundary of the game reserve, and the Tweedepoort Escarpment forms the dividing line between the reserve's northern and southern sections, rising to 1328m at Tshwene-Tshwene.
The Madikwe Reserve is a mere three and a half hours drive from Johannesburg and 120 km from the Sun City Resort. The Madikwe Game Reserve features its own airstrip and regular flights from Johannesburg make the exclusive Mateya Safari Lodge easily accessible for guests. Arrangements can be made for direct, chartered flights, landing at the Madikwe Reserve airstrip, which is a short 10 minute drive from the main lodge.
The Reception at Mateya, which is beautifully decorated with original artworks, leads out onto a deck from where stunning views of the game reserve and surrounding escarpment can be enjoyed.
Full Internet and email facilities are available in the business centre of the Lodge. For guests who are inclined to a healthy dose of physical exertion, the cardiovascular gym provides all the necessary equipment one requires to satisfy the needs of a workout routine.

The Mateya Safari Lodge consists of five individually designed luxury air conditioned thatched suites. Each suite blends with its natural surroundings and offers uninterrupted views of the waterhole and plains.
