Game viewing

Guests staying at the five star Etali Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve enjoy exciting early morning game drives with an expert ranger as well as late afternoon safaris through the wilderness. 

Watching a leopard sitting on tree branch, admiring a black rhino with its attitude, seeing how much fun a herd of elephants have taking a mud bath at the waterhole and observing Pride of lion walk past make for an unforgettable adventure.

Star gazing

For guests who are fascinated by stars, planets and the great solar system, stargazing during a stay at the luxurious Etali Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve is a must.  Visitors have the opportunity to explore the wonder of the Southern Cross, the strange beauty of the Jewel Box as well as the Milky Way. 

Through the eyes of lodges telescope, the night skies in the wild African bush are very unique.  Millions of stars shine with clarity and brilliance which can only be admired far away from the city lights.  Galaxies, planets and star clusters look spectacular in a telescope in the dark skies of the African bushveld.
 

Walking safaris

An absolute thrill provides the walks through the bushveld where the heartbeat of Africa can be felt.   The guides explain the medicinal importance of plants, trees and delight guests with stories of the magical powers attributed to them by the local people as well as identify bird and grass species.

Of particular interest, while on a walking safari through the bush are the huge termite mounds which are an interesting phenomenon, called 'Castles of Clay'.  The top of the hills are always north-west facing, and the temperature inside the mounds always remains at a constant 37 degrees Celsius.

Swimming

The Etali Safari Lodge features an infinite swimming pool which is surrounded by a sundeck with loungers.
