The Ker & Downey Family Safari in Botswana, Southern Africa, is a special safari offering families the unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the African wilderness together, as a family. The rates for this all-inclusive, family safari starts from US$ 11,900.00 (subject to change) during the low season, the cost depends on the time of the year and the number of adults and kids travelling.

A great variety of different activities are available to the parents and the children. Alternatively, parents may enjoy relaxation and tranquillity whilst the guide entertains the children with activities to suit all ages. The thrilling activities are designed to be both exciting and educational in order to create lasting memories of all the family. The emphasis is on learning how to track wildlife, on foot and in 4x4 safari vehicles. The kids are also taught how to make small animal traps and how to start a fire with only two sticks. Furthermore, kids learn how to identify animal spoor and birds and try their hand at poling a Mokoro (subject to water levels).

Okuti Camp, Moremi Game Reserve

This welcoming camp nestles alongside the Maunachira River within the Moremi Game Reserve of Botswana. This camp features five houses of reeds each of which provides en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, running water and flush toilet. The additional two family rooms at Okuti offer two bedrooms which share spacious bathroom facilities making this ideal for families in this child-friendly camp.

Kanana Camp, Okavango Delta

This hidden camp on the Xudum River is situated in the southwest of the Okavango Delta. Marked by islands which are dotted with palms, ebony, figs, and Knobthorn, it is home to a great variety of birds, plants and animals. Seven spacious twin and double-bedded safari tents and one family tent accommodated guests. Each of the tents provides en-suite bathrooms with shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. These tents are well spaced out, offering privacy whilst remaining within easy distance from the main camp area.

Footsteps Camp, Shinde Private Concession

The Young Explorers family safari is located at the Footsteps Camp which lies within the Shinde private concession. This private camp accommodates six guests in three specially-designed twin-bedded Meru tents which feature sewn-in floors. One of these tents can be changed into a family tent to accommodate three guests. Complete with en-suite bathroom including a wash basin and flush toilet. The unique private bush shower is located adjacent to the tent.
