Dining at Kwantu is an extraordinary experience where guests have the chance to tantalize their taste buds with traditional South African specialities and a combination of other Asian and contemporary dishes. Weather depending, meals are available at different locations.  Special meals are available for children.

Game drives
The game drives are in a open Land Rovers which travers the scenic Sidbury Plains which are home to the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant).
 
Safaris:
  •  morning game drives (6 - 9 am summer / 10 am - 1 pm Winter)
  •  afternoon game drives (3 - 5 pm summer/ 3 - 5 pm winter).
Walking safaris

Explore the reserve's smaller creatures as well as its flora and fauna on the exciting walking safaris.  These bush walks are guided by professional game rangers.

Swimming

Kwantu offers guests access to three swimming pools which includes a children's pool as well.  During the warm and sunny summer afternoons, a refreshing swim between game drives is very energizing.

Kwantu Elephant Sanctuary
Set in the indigenous bush, the Kwantu Elephant Sanctuary is home to five amazing African Elephants.  Visitors have the unique opportunity to touch, hear, smell and experience these giants.  Guests are invited to experience the educational show which includes a talk as well as an Elephant back ride.

Education and Rehabilitation Centre

Various species of predators are home in Kwantu's Education and Rehabilitation Centre.  This rehabilitation centre, which has been built to provide a most natural look, gives endangered predators the connection between the wild in a protected and enclosed area.  These include Lion, Bengal Tigers, Cheetahs as well as White Lions.

Tennis and cricket

Tennis courts invite for a challenging match while a cricket field is also accessible to guests.

Bird watching

Eastern Cape's Kwantu Game Reserve is a magnificent paradise of bird watching enthusiasts.  A great diversity of birds can be observed here in their natural habitats, which include rainforest, riverine, gorge as well as the Savannah.  A true birders' heaven, the reserve is home to more than 200 bird species.

Six Superior Rooms are on offer at the Pollards Inn Hotel which offers one extra length king bed and a sleeper couch.  Additionally, six Family Superior Rooms each provide two queen size beds and a sleeper couch.  Two Standard Rooms with separate twin beds are also on offer at Pollards.

Directions

Self-drive directions to Kwantu Private Game Reserve:

Guests travelling from Port Elizabeth will need to take the N2 heading towards Grahams town and stay on this road for approximately 85 km. Here will see the Sidbury sign to the right indicating to take a left turn onto the gravel road which you will follow for about 10km.Once on the gravel road, Kwantu signs will lead you to the main gate.

NB: As you approach the lodge please note that you are in a wilderness area where wild animals and predators roam freely, should you experience any problems please contact the lodge.
