The luxurious Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve, Sabi Sand is built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole. The perennial Sand River is a sanctuary for many bird species and is home to wallowing hippos and basking crocodiles.

The game-rich reserve covers over 10 000 hectares of unspoilt African bushveld in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park of South Africa.
