The Mapungubwe National Park offers spectacular views of the Limpopo River, magnificent scenery, and dramatic sandstone cliffs.  Elephants and other wildlife can be observed here.  Game drives and guided morning walks with armed rangers can be enjoyed in the Mapungubwe National Park.
 
Mapungubwe World Heritage Site

A tour to the Mapungubwe Hill, the site of the first African Kingdom, which reached its climax in the 13 the Century, pre-dating Great Zimbabwe, is highly recommended.

Conferences at the Mopane Bush Lodge

The Mopane Bush Lodge in the Limpopo Province features a small conference venue which is at the Mapesu Lodge, only 2.5 km away on the same game reserve.  This distance has been kept to preserve the seclusion and tranquillity of the bush lodge, even when conferences are taking place at the conference facility.

The conference facilities at the Mopane Bush Lodge can accommodate up to 32 delegates in a cinema style seating arrangement. The conference venue is bright with large windows and furnished with blackout curtains to facilitate electronic projection of images and videos.  For the comfort of business delegates, Mopane's conference venue is air-conditioned.

The Mopane Bush Lodge features eight secluded thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms.  Each chalet at the Mopane Bush Lodge is located in its private kraal offering a welcoming veranda as well as an additional outdoor shower.

The views of the bushveld which surround the lodge are unique to each chalet.  One of the chalets at the Mopane Bush Lodge is equipped and designed to be wheelchair friendly.

The spacious bedrooms invite for relaxation in real comfort, with facilities such as generous cupboard space, a safe, hairdryer, tea and coffee station, good lighting over a large mirror at the dressing table as well as at the bedside tables.  The bathrooms of the chalets offer spacious showers, large towels, and an 110v/220v shaver plug.

Directions

Directions to the Mopane Bush Lodge from Johannesburg, Gauteng:

Travel on the N1 North highway out of Johannesburg, which goes round the East of Pretoria.
Travel on this highway for about 300km to Polokwane (Pietersburg), through four tolls, totalling about R100.
We suggest that the best place to stop for fuel and a snack is Star Stop � The Ranch, 20 km before Polokwane.
At the entrance to Polokwane turn left, at the large traffic circle, into Nelson Mandela Drive.
Follow this road round the town to the seventh traffic light, where you turn right at the sign showing to the R521 Dendron (Mogwadi).
At the next traffic light turn left and you are on the R521 to Dendron (Mogwadi) & Alldays.
Proceed along this road for 140 km, past Dendron (Mogwadi) and Vivo to Alldays.
We recommend you observe the speed limits in these three towns.
At the stop sign in Alldays turn right and proceed towards Pontdrif. At 46 km from Alldays turn right onto the R572 to Mapungubwe and Musina.
The Mopane Bush Lodge is 29 km along the R572 on the right, just past the cell phone tower.
Turn onto the gravel road to the gate. Open the gate by pushing the button on the pole under the light.
Follow signs to Mopane Bush Lodge. There is about 3 km of gravel road to the lodge.

The total distance from Johannesburg to the four star Mopane Bush Lodge in the Limpopo Province of South Africa is about 540 km.
