Wildlife activities

The Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, in South Africa's Limpopo Province, is a place of rare and rugged beauty, plentiful wildlife and prolific birdlife.

Guests who have the opportunity to visit this game reserve are able to experience the untamed African wilderness. This malaria free game reserve is home to over 50 different mammals, including the Big Five.

The scenic wilderness area of the Welgevonden Game Reserve offers an exclusive, intimate experience of the African bush with only a limited number of guests having access to the reserve at any one time. No private vehicles are permitted within the reserve, which ensures minimal human impact and the ultimate wilderness experience.

Ancient and delicate Bushman Rock Art can also be admired in the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Activities, which are offered at the Nungubane Game Lodge include safaris in open landrovers, bush dinners, bird watching and walking safaris which are available on request.

Swimming

The Nungubane Game Lodge in the Welgevonden Game Reserve features an outdoor swimming pool which allows guests to cool down or relax on the deck with a view of the African wilderness.

Children Policy

Children under the age of 12 receive the child rates when sharing with two adults. Children under two stay free of charge at the Nungubane Lodge in the Welgevonden Reserve, South Africa.

While every effort is made to accommodate children, the Nungubane Lodge reserves the right to provide alternative meal arrangements for children.

Children of 6 and younger may not go on drives. Children between 6 and 12 years are allowed at the sole discretion of the game ranger.

The exclusive Nungubane Game Lodge nestles in the sprawling wilderness of the malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in South Africa's Limpopo Province. The Nungubane Lodge can accommodate a total of 10 guests in private chalets.

The Nungubane Game Lodge features a total of 5 chalets consisting of 2 Luxury Chalets featuring king size beds and 3 Luxury Chalets with twin beds.

Directions

Directions to the Nungubane Game Lodge from Johannesburg by road:

1. From Johannesburg take the N1 towards Polokwane (Pietersburg) to the Kranskop Toll Plaza.
2. At the Toll Plaza follow the Modimolle (Nylstroom) off ramp.
3. Continue through Modimolle (Nylstroom), carry on through Mabatlane (Vaalwater) and continue to the Main Gate, 26 Kilometres from Vaalwater. Do not enter the Main Gate but rather continue to the Schoongelegen turn-off (22.5 km).
4. Turn left to Schoongelegen and stay sand road to the West Gate (16.5 km). Enter at the West Gate (be sure not to enter at the contractors gate). Secure parking is provided at the West Gate, and a vehicle will transport you to your private game lodge.
