As dawn breaks over the untamed African bush, a gentle tap on the door of your chalet will wake you to the delights of a new day.  The professional ranger will discuss what wildlife you hope to see today over delicious tea or coffee and morning biscuits or rusks.  The Phinda is famous for its exceptional sightings of the shy cheetah and the rare black rhino. There are several resident lions prides at this reserve and rangers will do their best to provide guests with a glimpse of all of these animals.

Breakfast:

Lunch:
If you wish, you can walk off your breakfast near your Lodge at Phinda, accompanied by your ranger, who will share his knowledge of the smaller animals and vegetation in the area, before returning in time for lunch.

Afternoon Tea:
Guests may relax with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool at Phinda, enjoy a relaxing afternoon sleep or simply watch the wildlife from their private veranda. Over a late afternoon tea, the ranger will discuss the itinerary and a planned route of the afternoon drive.

Evening Drive:
This safari begins in the late afternoon and lasts until after dark when spotlights are used by the range for a glimpse into the nocturnal bush life.  Guests may listen to lions roar in the night or admire the small nocturnal animals.   Enjoy sundowners in a scenic location as the sun slowly sinks beneath the horizon.  Guests also have the opportunity to go on a boat cruise or canoe down the Mzinene River, watching the wildlife as they come down to drink.
