The Pungwe lodge is small with only 4 Safari tents and this makes for personalized service and close interaction with the safari guides who are eager to impart their knowledge of the African bush. Each tent has been set out for optimum comforts with the added ambience of the sounds of the wild. The thatched roofs over each of the large tents ensure that the interiors remain cool in summer and moderate in winter.
This lodge is situated in the secluded and undeveloped southern portion of the Manyeleti, on the northern border of the Sabi Sand Reserve and the eastern border of the Kruger Park. This camp shares unfenced boundaries with both of these iconic reserves, allowing for free flow of animals between the three reserves. The reserve is renowned for its large herds of game and the area is secluded which makes for a very good safari experience.
All the tents have modern en-suite bathrooms have showers, large bathtubs with the modern comforts you would expect at Pungwe Lodge. Each of the tents offers the option of either twin-bedded option or king under a large mosquito net, providing protection and an out of Africa feel time when Africa was truly wild. You can enjoy the soft light from the candles burning in the room.
The delicious meals at Pungwe are nourishing and often cooked over an open fire under the Manyeleti stars using locally sourced fresh produce. This lodge caters for vegetarian requirements and although remote and off the grid, the luxury of ice is always available.
