Junior Ranger Program
10:00 – Introduction to the Junior Ranger Program (Ages 4- 12)
Parents and children are introduced to the variety of activities that are required in order to qualify as a Junior Ranger based on the kid's ages.
11:00 – 12:00 – Adventures with Nature
Thrilling and interactive bush activities await. Depending on the weather, a ranger leads the kids around the lodge grounds on a walk. For the older children, there are additional midday educational drives in the bush. The young Junior Ranger group learns interesting facts about the surrounding bushveld and the animals, which includes bugs and birds, bush survival skills, identifying tracks and seeing signs of nature.
12:00 – 13:00 – Hobbies and Crafts
If the weather does not allow for outdoor activities, kids enjoy fun arts and crafts, where boys and girls enjoy hands-on projects relating to nature.
14:00 – 15:30 – Game time
All children are invited to join the indoor and outdoor afternoon games which are great fun and very educational. The spacious outdoor area with an obstacle course, a maze, an open field to play soccer are a fantastic playground to enjoy water sports and jungle gyms. Fun general knowledge quizzes are based on African animals where also different animal sounds are learned.
Daily scheduled flights from O.R. Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport are available directly to the Sabi Sabi Airstrip. Daily scheduled flights from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to KMIA Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit with a short add on flight to the Sabi Sabi Airstrip can also be booked. Private air charters as well as helicopter transfers are available on request. The transfers between the Sabi Sabi Airstrip and the Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge are complimentary.
SA Airlink operates daily scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Skukuza as well as between Cape Town and Skukuza. Guests can also fly with SA Airlink from O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to the KMIA Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit with an add on flight to the Sabi Sabi airstrip with Federal Air. The road transfers between the Skukuza Airport and the Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge can be pre-booked.
