The Sala’s Camp is in the southern region of Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya, East Africa. Situated in proximity to the confluence of the Sand and Keekorok Rivers.

An ideal geographical location for attracting an abundance of wildlife, guests are accommodated in Luxury Sala Tents making for an unforgettable safari experience in one of Africa's best wildlife viewing destinations.

Salas being close to the neighbouring country of Tanzania, magnificent views of the Serengeti National Park can be admired.

This tented camp is the first lodge in the Mara where one can witness the annual, legendary migration of wildebeest thundering by between June to September each year. Tradition, luxury and comfort are combined while ensuring a 'close to nature' experience.

The Sala's camp accommodates a maximum of sixteen guests only in seven Luxury Tents; guests are ensured tranquillity and privacy at all times.

The spacious Honeymoon Luxury Tent can accommodate a family of up to four. Well-appointed and elegant, guests enjoy space and comfort in the exclusive tents which are complete with en-suite bathrooms (hot showers, running water and flushing toilets).

Activities

With Kenya's Maasai Mara being one of the world’s richest game areas and also home to the ‘Big 5’, guests embark on thrilling safari drives all year round.

After returning to the lodge for an exciting wildlife viewing experience with close wildlife encounters, a guest may relax in their hammock or enjoy refreshing sundowners by the campfire before dinner is served under the stars.

When to Go

Sala Days in the Masai Mara are warm and can get hot while the temperatures cool down during the nights. The rains are usually expected during April and May. Kenya's Mara is all year round a fantastic wildlife viewing destination. During the months from December to March, Elephant sightings are exceptional.

It is in June when the vast herds of wildebeest cross over from Tanzania and stay until mid-September. This luxury tented Sala camp is open from June to October and from mid-November to mid-April, but can also be open at any time if required.
