The Wilderness Safaris Vumbura Plains Camp enjoys a beautiful location in the Okavango Delta of Botswana making wildlife experiences an unforgettable experience.

This eco-retreat features a unique, contemporary design and consists of two separate satellite camps featuring a total of only fourteen rooms. Two of the fourteen spacious, well-appointed chalets accommodate families.

The luxurious Vumbura Plains cottages are raised off the ground providing indoor and outdoor showers as well as en-suite bathrooms. For additional luxury, each of the rooms at this safari camp in Botswana features a private plunge pool and sala.

The Vumbura camps offer to welcome raised lounges, dining and bar areas with scenic vistas across the Okavango Delta. A deck with comfortable cushions extends into the floodplain from where guests may enjoy stargazing.

Okavango Delta's annually flooded grasslands surround the Vumbura Plains Camp. This region provides terrific seasonal viewing of elephants, giraffes, impalas, sable antelopes, kudus, zebras as well as common waterbucks and reedbucks, tsessebe, wildebeest, red lechwe and Cape buffalo. In the waterways of this untamed wilderness, hippo and crocodile can be observed. Predators such as the African wild dog, lions, as well as leopards, cheetahs and African wildcats are also home in this area. For bird watchers, this part of Botswana is a paradise all year round.

Due to its location, guests at the Vumbura Camp offers both land and water-based safari activities to explore the untamed wildlife. The safari drives in the morning and the late afternoon are conducted in open 4x4 Land Rovers.

The night safari drives are done with strong spotlights to observe the nocturnal animals in the dark. Guests explore the waterways of the Okavango Delta by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe), this activity is water-level dependent. On a catch and release basis, fishing is on offer seasonally.
